- Description
- The USDA NRCS in New York is preparing to issue a solicitation for work authorized under the Emergency Watershed Protection Program due to heavy rain and flooding conditions as a result of Hurricane Irene and Lee, to relieve imminent hazards to life and property. The project shall protect the south bank of Dill Brook and Dill Brook Road that suffered significant erosion in the late summer of 2011 due to Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee. This repair shall also reduce the sediment load into the Little Hoosic River and ultimately the Hudson River. The project focuses on the installation of approximately 590' of stacked rock wall to stabilize the channel of Dill Brook. Approximately 590' of stacked rock wall, ~4' high, will be installed along the south bank. The existing sloped rock riprap will be removed, reserved, and reinstalled following completion of the stacked rock wall. Existing large rock may be used for additional toe protection of the stacked rock wall. The project is located along Dill Brook Road, in the Town of Petersburgh, New York. The site can be located at 42.7636° N Latitude and 73.3556° W Longitude - near the hamlet of Stillham Settlement. A Payment Bond in the amount of 100% will be required within 5 calendar days of award of contract. The location of the work sites will be within the flooded areas and as described in the solicitations. All necessary permits and land rights have been acquired. A firm-fixed price award is anticipated under simplified acquisition procedures, and is being set aside for Small Business residing or primarily doing business in the New York State counties of Albany, Broome, Bronx, Chenango, Chemung, Chenango, Clinton, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Essex, Fulton, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Herkimer, Kings, Montgomery, Nassau, New York, Oneida, Orange, Otsego, Putnam, Queens, Rensselaer, Richmond, Rockland, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Suffolk, Sullivan, Tioga, Tompkins, Ulster, Warren, Washington, and Westchester. The local area set aside is defined in accordance with the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act. The solicitation package, construction drawings and specifications will be posted and available from this site on or about July 28, 2014. Requests for Quotes, under Simplified Acquisition procedures will be due on or about August 18, 2014. A pre-bid site showing is being planned for Tuesday, August 5, 2014, the details of which will be specified in the solicitation package. Price Range is between $25,000 - $100,000
