Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. GENERAL The STS panels shall be of a 5.8 mesh construction woven entirely from.039 quote mark diameter monofilament. The monofilament, which shall be a chemically enhanced derivative of the polyester family of fibers, must be quote mark clear quote mark in appearance, and not be pigmented quote mark white quote mark in color, and is to be free from TiO2 (titanium dioxide). The monofilament must be produced with an additive to prevent any occurrences of metal activated degradation. The monofilament also must possess the characteristics of high molecular weight along with generally superior abrasion, hydrolysis and chemical resistance. The STS panel shall be Scapa part #7-3360/59 PBT and woven with SynDura Type PBT (Poly Butylenes Terephthalate) monofilament, # SFNA-1, manufactured by SynStrand, Inc. of Summerville, SC, or an approved equal. The STS panels shall be sized at 92.25 quote mark ws. X 131.25 quote mark lg. (+-1/8 quote mark ). The finished STS panels shall have a distinct crimp of equal size in both the warp and fill directions and the fabric must be flat, free from pucker or blister. The monofilaments shall be free from abrasion or other damage. The panels shall not have selvage edges. All strands shall run the full length and full width of the panel without splicing. A 12 quote mark square sample complete with edging shall be submitted for testing approval after fabric weaving but prior to delivery. Strength Each monofilament shall have a minimum tensile strength of 80 pounds and minimum elongation at break of 30 percent. The material shall be suitable for use in cold water and shall be quote mark heat set quote mark at a minimum of 360 degrees Fahrenheit so that it will be dimensionally stable when subjected to temperatures of 200 degrees Fahrenheit. It shall also be heat set at an adequate tension to provide dimensional stability at ambient temperatures. Screen Edge Protection The entire edged perimeter of the STS panels shall be protected with polyurethane or another approved equal material. The protective edging shall have a useable temperature range of -10 to +200 degrees Fahrenheit. The selected polyurethane shall be completely bonded through the mesh to offer equal protection on both sides of the STS panel. The perimeter of the protective polyurethane edging must not be subject to peeling, flaking, delamination or separation by any means. Delivery All items shall be delivered FOB DESTINATION to John Day Lock and Dam within six (6) weeks of contract award. The contractor shall be responsible for packing and shipping the components in a manner that will ensure undamaged and complete arrival to John Day Lock and Dam. No shipments are allowed other than normal business hours of Monday-Thursday 6:30AM-5PM, excluding holidays. All shipments shall be delivered to: John Day Lock and Dam Attn: Christine Good I-84, EXIT 109, Rufus, OR 97050 If unable to meet requested Delivery date, please provide delivery lead time: This solicitation requires registration with the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to award, pursuant to applicable regulations and guidelines. EFFECTIVE JAN 2005, all offerors are required to use Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) to respond to federal solicitations. To register in ORCA, please go to www.bpn.gov/orca. You must be active in the Central Contractor Registration (www.ccr.gov) and have a Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN), to register in ORCA. Failure to register in ORCA may preclude an award being made to your company. EVALUATION: Award will be made to the Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable Offeror. Note: In order to be considered for award, the Contractor shall submit sufficient descriptive literature such as illustrations, drawings, or specifications to demonstrate the equipment being proposed meets the requirements of this specification.
