- Description: The Office of the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) - Vehicle Technology Directorate (VTD); together with the Aviation and Missile, Research, Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) - Aviation Development Directorate (ADD); will conduct the quote mark Zero-Maintenance/Fatigue-Free quote mark workshop to foster collaboration and transition from basic and applied science and technology to higher levels of research, development, test, and evaluation over the mid- (2017-2021) and far-term (2021-2030). Purpose: The objective of the workshop is to (1) disseminate the Army quote mark Zero-Maintenance/Fatigue-Free quote mark vision, (2) define taxonomies; required capabilities; technology gaps; and metrics, and (3) discuss collaboration strategies to include exploring ARL quote mark Open Campus quote mark initiatives, and (4) explore various Integrated Product Teams. Open dialogue with industry and academia is strongly encouraged to develop a common vision for revolutionizing aviation design, operations, maintenance, and logistics paradigms. Focus Areas: Basic Research, Platforms, Power Systems, Mission Systems, and Sustainment. Location: The quote mark Zero-Maintenance/Fatigue-Free quote mark workshop will be hosted by the Army Research Laboratory, Conference Center, Bldg 4503, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, from Tuesday through Thursday, 12-14 August 2014. Check-ins will begin at 8:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). The meeting will begin at 8:30AM EDT on each three days. Limited opportunities for sidebar meetings will be available on Thursday afternoon, 14 August 2014. These opportunities will be limited to 15-minute sessions. Registration and Access to ARL Aberdeen Proving Ground: This is a no-fee event and participation is limited to two (2) company and university representatives (this may change based on the number of responses). Companies and universities are required to pre-register - no foreign nationals will be allowed to attend. Registration will close at 4:00PM EDT Monday, 4 August 2014. Pre Registration is required. Walk-ins will not be permitted. All expenses associated with attendance will be the responsibility of the participant(s). Please register with the registration form located in the attachment section to this announcement. Send one completed registration form per company or university to Ms. Amy Pancio at Amy.L.Pancio.civ@mail.mil using the subject line quote mark ARL ZZ-FF WORKSHOP REGISTRATION. An e-mail confirmation will be sent. No phone calls will be accepted for registration. No late registrations will be accepted, no exceptions. Attendees must present a current photo ID (driver's license, military ID, or passport) matching the attendee information submitted via the Registration Form to gain entry into the event. A Government Issued I.D. is also required for admittance onto Aberdeen Proving Ground. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to permit sufficient time for check-ins.
