Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Boston Healthcare System, has a requirement for a vendor to develop, test, modify, and monitor real-time telecommunications systems for the research project entitled A telemedicine intervention to improve physical function in patients with PD. Such development, modification, testing, and monitoring shall be provided in collaboration with and according to specifications developed by project staff at VA Boston Healthcare System (Jamaica Plain, MA). The incumbent contractor has a proven record of developing mobile telemedicine application and has successfully performed the following services: translating modules currently coded in Windows Mobile to Android code; development of real-time Android telemedicine interventions; testing of the interventions; writing, revising, and editing of technical documentation manuals; attending meetings with project staff weekly to review progress; providing technical support of the interventions. A fixed price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with a performance period of 5 years (Base and 4 options) is anticipated and shall be awarded. It is the Government's belief that only the incumbent contractor, AVA Logic LLC of Methuen, MA possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this follow-on requirement due to the nature of the previously completed work. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate only with this source. This is not a solicitation; it is notice of intent to sole source a requirement. Inquiries/information received after the established deadline shall not be considered. The submission of any data for review shall not impede award of this contract as planned. The Government does not intend to pay for information. This synopsis is issued pursuant to FAR 6.302-1.
