Description
***PLEASE CONTACT STEVEN SHAW WITH ANY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS OR SUBIT CAPABILITIES TO steven.s.shaw@nasa.gov*** NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Concurrent Computer Corporation (CCC) on a Other Than Full And Open Competition basis. The ImaGen rackmount servers will be used for the B2 Test Emulators and the Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) Emulators. Because of the complexity of real-time computing, the systems running the real-time operating system must be certified by the provider of the systems. All peripheral I/O services and their associated driver software must be certified by the real-time operation system vendor. CCC's proprietary RedHawk Linux real-time operating system is the real-time operating system currently used in the various Integrated Avionics Test Facilities (IATF) labs; therefore, any subsequent real-time systems must be purchased with this operating system. Any new systems purchased without this operating system would not be compatible with the existing systems already in place in various labs. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their company capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. CST on 7/24/2014. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/p ub_library/Omb.html. ***PLEASE CONTACT STEVEN SHAW WITH ANY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS OR SUBIT CAPABILITIES TO steven.s.shaw@nasa.gov***
