- Description
- This is a notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order and is not a request for competitive proposals under the authority of 41.U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) as set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(i). The government intends to enter into a firm fixed price award with EMD Millipore Corporation, 25760 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1257 and DUNS Number 001050152. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the nation's leading medical research agency and the primary Federal agency conducting and supporting medical discoveries that improve people's health and save lives. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) mission is to seek fundamental knowledge about the brain and nervous system and to use that knowledge to reduce the burden of neurological disease. The NINDS Neural Differentiation Unit (NDU) generates neural stem cells from patients with various neurological disorders in collaboration with scientists from Section of Infections of the Nervous System, Translational Neuroscience Center and other NINDS investigators. A critical part of our mission is to study the effect of genetic background on neural stem cells functions. Our goal is to develop an easy but robust method based on a multiple fluorescent labeling which will be easily used in live cells imaging to study the effect of certain proteins on neural stem cells proliferation, migration and differentiation. Our mission is to apply knowledge derived from this basic research to practical diagnostic applications that enhance human health and well-being. The ONIX Microfluidic Perfusion System and ONIX Plates for Cell biology Research are required to support Evos FL Auto Fluorescent Auto Imaging system that will be purchased for the NDU. CellASIC's unique technology is specifically designed for studying the behavior of live cells under a microscope. The above equipment in the lab are critical components in the carrying out the Core's mission. Small businesses are encouraged to respond to this notice if they are capable to meet the needs of this requirement. Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability and compatibility to fulfill the requirement. A complete statement of work is attached for reference. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System Code 334516 Analytical Laboratory Industry Manufacturing with a size standard of 500 employees. The Government shall consider all responses received prior to the close date of this announcement. All responses must be received no later than August 11, 2014 at 1:00PM, Eastern Standard Time. Please email Brian Lind, Contract Specialist, at lindbj@nida.nih.gov with technical questions or written responses pertaining to this notice. No phone calls will be accepted.
