Description

This pre-solicitation notice is to inform that the VA Medical Center, Bath, New York will be posting a Request for Quotation (RFQ) on or about August 5, 2014 to replace carpet and flooring, B-41, 1st floor. The contractor shall be responsible for the removal and disposal of all materials that include existing carpet in all areas of the 1st floor. They are also responsible for the removal and disposal of all VCT identified on the 1st floor for removal (all locations). This work shall include the removal and replacement of the cove base and also the subflooring. The contractor is also responsible for removal of all known asbestos for abatement related to the floor. The contractor is responsible for the removal of all known floor related asbestos identified by the VA through the most recent survey. The most recent survey identified that the 12x12 tile and mastic were over 1% of asbestos meaning that it is asbestos containing materials and must be removed. The subfloor layer shall be contaminated through mastic and can either be cleaned and removed or removed as part of the abatement process. This procurement is 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses'. The NAICS code is 238330. The small business standard is $15 M. The cost range is $25,000 to $150,000. Information regarding the one and only site visit scheduled will be stated in the RFQ.
