The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Structures and Propulsion Branch has a requirement technical support to develop Ti standards for Type I inclusions represented by highly localized concentrations of one or more of the elements oxygen, nitrogen, or carbon. The standards will be used for calibration of electron microprobe analysis (EMPA) or energy-dispersive spectrometry (EDS) techniques or for cross-application to other appropriate micro-analytical techniques. This market survey is not a Screening Information Request (SIR) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing the response to the market survey. The purpose of this market survey is to solicit statements of capabilities from interested parties. This market survey is also being conducted in order to obtain the information necessary to determine whether adequate competition exists. The principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes anticipated for this effort is 541712, Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology), with a small business size standard of 500 employees. In order to make this determination, the FAA requires the following information from interested vendors: Capability Statement (LIMITED TO 5 PAGES ONLY) “ This document should identify: 1. Your company ™s capability to provide supplies and services to the agency as described by Attachment 1, śRequirements ť. 2. Any relevant current or previous experience that includes not more than three contacts for the same or similar services completed within the last five years or still ongoing. Additional Submissions “ 1. Completed Business Declaration Form, and any SBA certification letters (if applicable) 2. Comments concerning the Market Survey are welcome and optional. The FAA will consider all comments received. All submissions in response to this market survey must be received by 12:00 pm EST on July 28, 2014. Send response via email to karin.weinert@faa.gov.
