- HANGING SCALE Minimum Essential Characteristics - VAT Supplies Supplies are required to support Vertical Accelerator Tower (VAT) laboratory research. Minimum characteristics for each item are below. Items include: Digital hanging scale to be used with existing 2-ton hoist. Pallet litter to be used with existing 2-ton hoist. High output fluorescent handheld/hanging light Polypropylene utility cart Items required to build custom Pubic Address (PA) system 1.One (1) High-Capacity Digital Hanging Scale is required with the following characteristics: -Must have LED display with characters at least 1.2 quote mark high -Must have at least a 1.6 quote mark hook opening -Must have a steel bottom swivel hook w/ safety latch -Must have a capacity of 5000 pounds 5 -Overall height must not exceed 16.5 quote mark -Shackle must be steel with an opening at least 3.4 quote mark x 2.45 quote mark -Must have a tare button to zero out weight of container and weigh only contents -Must be rated for indoor/outdoor use and protect from dust and washdowns -Must be capable of operating on a rechargeable battery 2.One (1) Pallet Lifter is required with the following characteristics: -Must be a fixed pallet lifter -Must be steel -Must have guiding handles -Must have a capacity of 4000 pounds -Must have a clearance height of at least 48 quote mark -Fork lengths must be tapered and must have at least 48 quote mark length 3.One (1) Fluorescent Trouble Light is required with the following characteristics: -Light must hold at-least Two 13 watt bulbs -Must have impact resistant cover over bulbs -Must have angled handle for handheld requirements -Must have hooks to hang the light -Cord must be at least 25 ft. in length -Must be portable, limited by cord length -Outlet must be 3 - pronged and at least 12 amps 4.One (1) Polypropylene Utility Cart is required with the following characteristics: -Cart capacity must be at least 500 lbs -Cart must have at least 2 open shelves -Each shelf must have high lip on every side - at least 2 quote mark high -Shelf size must be at least 36 quote mark X 25 quote mark in size -Shelf clearance must be at least 19 quote mark -Must have handle built-in bins -Corners must be rounded -Must have 2 stationary casters and 2 swivel casters -Casters must be thermoplastic rubber 5.Items required to build custom Pubic Address (PA) system a.One (1) Public Address System Amplifier -Must be a Bench-top amplifier -Must have at least 15 Power Watts -Cord must be at least 5 feet b.Four (4) Wall-mount speakers -Must operate on at least 25/70 volts -Must have a knob to adjust volume -Must be able to output 5 watts c.One (1) Desktop microphone -Cord must be at least 7 feet -Talk button must be able to quote mark lock quote mark on for hands-free operation d.One (1) Microphone Plug -Must be a 3-pin XLR Male plug e.One (1) Audio Cable -Must have parallel wires that can be separated -Wires must be stranded with one marked for polarity -Must be 18 ga. Cable -Must have at least 250' -Must have at least 300 AC/DC Voltage f.Three (3) Solid Wire Duct with Snap-on cover -Height must be at least 5/8 quote mark -Width must be at least quote mark -Overall length of wire duct must be at least 19'6 quote mark g.One hundred (100) twist on wire connectors -Must be rated to at least 221 F -Must be rated to at least 600 volts -Min must be 2(22 AWG) -Max must be 3(16 AWG) EVALUATION CRITERIA: LOWEST PRICE, TECHNICALLY ACCEPTABLE. IF NOT QUOTING BRAND NAME, THEN MUST PROVIDE MECS WITH QUOTE.
