Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a HUBZONE small business set-aside for the Research and Development (R&D) Storage Facility, Building 24, US Army Soldier Systems Center, located in Natick, MA. The project is planned to be issued on or about August 8, 2014. The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The work for this project consists of new construction of a 5,000 square foot Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) Storage Facility (Warehouse). The proposed new warehouse will be used for the storage of general non-hazardous and non-flammable goods, and will not be inhabited by a full-time employee. The primary access into the building shall be via two overhead bay doors. One is located along the front (southerly side), and one is located on the east side. Additionally, there will be two man doors located on the east side, and the rear (north) side. The warehouse will be divided into two primary areas by a chain link fence to be installed in the interior. There will also be a smaller caged area, with chain link fence on three sides and a ceiling. Interior rooms are the Fire Pump room, and an electrical room. The warehouse is to be located in the northwesterly portion of the property located off Kansas Street. Access to the new warehouse will be provided by existing paved roads and driveways that currently provide access to the subject area. Natick SSC is responsible for researching, developing, fielding, and managing food, clothing, shelters, airdrop systems, and soldier support items. This is not a request for proposals at this time. The solicitation requirements and contract documents to include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about August 8, 2014. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation, offerors must access the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov). All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the New England District. Additional questions may be emailed to the Contract Specialist at kimberly.b.pumyea@usace.army.mil.
