Description

The Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center (TVAMC) has a requirement for a five year contract for Regulated Medical Waste and Sharps Removal, Transport and Disposal Services at the TVAMC in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The period of performance for the base year of the contract would be 10-01-2014 through 9-30-2015. This opportunity is available only to contractors under public law 109-461 and 38 USC 8127. This acquisition will be solicited pursuant to the Veterans' First Public Law 109-461 as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside. Additionally, this acquisition will be awarded in accordance with FAR 15.101-2, utilizing the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable process and a best value award is expected to result from the selection of the technically acceptable proposal with the lowest evaluated cost. Please do not send questions to this notice as it is only a Pre-Solicitation Notice. Questions will be accepted only after the Solicitation has been published. The solicitation will be in accordance with FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items, and shall be 100% set-aside for Service Disable Veteran Owned Small Business concerns in accordance with FAR 6.206. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 562211 with a small business size standard of $38.5M. The Contractor shall adhere to all federal and state laws and regulations in effect during the term of this contract. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract. The solicitation shall be posted to the FedBizOpps website on or about August 6, 2014 as a Request for Quote. Offerors must be registered and CVE verified at the Vendor Information Pages at www.vip.vetbiz.gov, and currently registered in the System For Award Management (S.A.M) database at www.sam.gov. Ensure your registration is correct, current and has not expired. Offerors are advised that it is your responsibility to review and monitor the website frequently to ensure you have the most up to date information, including amendments.
