Description
On August 26-27, 2014, Sandia National Laboratories plans to host a two day brainstorming session for Industry aimed at discussing the national challenges and collaborative opportunities present in sCO2 Brayton Cycle power cycle development. This event will seek to gather specific and detailed input from industry to identify: • critical research and development and demonstration activities needed to commercialize this technology • market sectors most interested in the technology • partnering profiles and funding mechanisms needed to enable successful long-term development Sandia has adopted the following mission focus toward commercialization of the power cycle: By the end of FY 2019, Sandia National Laboratories shall develop, with industry, a fully operational 550˚C, 10 MWe R&D Demonstration s-CO2 Brayton Power Conversion System that will allow the systematic identification and retirement of technical risks and testing of components for the commercial application of this technology. Sandia National Laboratories would like to invite companies to participate in this brainstorming session to share their perspective on this important topic. Because of the nature of the questions posed in this event, participation is limited to U.S. companies only, who have significant interest in investing in future development of sCO2 Brayton Cycle technology. Due to the location of this event at Sandia National Laboratories only U.S. citizens may attend, and companies are limited to two attendees each. Interested attendees are encouraged to go to http://energy.sandia.gov/?page_id=19530 for more information, tentative agenda, and registration. Sandia National Laboratories is a multi-program laboratory managed and operated by Sandia Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation, for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration. With main facilities in Albuquerque, N.M., and Livermore, C.A., Sandia has major R&D responsibilities in national security, energy and environmental technologies, and economic competitiveness.
