- The Southwest Idaho and Nevada Acquisition Center anticipates awarding one contract for the construction of approximately 14,000 linear feet of letdown fence on the Council Ranger District, Payette National Forest, in Idaho. THE SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE ON OR AROUND JULY 30, 2014. This project is for the construction of approximately 14,000 total feet of 4-strand barbed wire let down fence. It consists of constructing two separate exclosures one (Dewey Creek #2) is approximately 6,000 feet in length and the second (Dewey Creek #3) is approximately 8,000 feet in length. The two exclosures are within ¾ of a mile from each other. The project area is moderately negotiated with a moderate grade and poor to fair soil for setting posts. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, materials not supplied by the government, and incidentals to perform the work.The Government will provide all stretch point posts ( treated 3-4"X4'), all H brace, double H brace, and 5 post corner brace cross pieces (3-4"X8') and all steel posts for the construction of the new fence. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized and systematic manner to assure that it is performed in a timely manner and complies with the technical specifications. The two exclosures being constructed will be replacing two existing electric fence exclosures. The proposed fence lines are approximately where the current electric fences are located. Variances from the original fence line are flagged in orange flagging with eye bolt trees being flagged in blue and white candy stripe flagging. Gate locations will be in the same locations as the current locations. The project area lies entirely within the boundaries of the Council Ranger District - Payette National Forest. Fences are located in Township 17 North, Range 1 East, Section 24 and 25. Site is accessible by travelling up the East Fork Weiser River Road #172 to the Dewey Creek Road #487. The East Fork Weiser River road is accessible by two-wheel drive vehicle during normal operating season. Location is approximately 20 miles east of Council, ID. This area is generally accessible by the first of June through mid-November depending upon winter snow levels. This is a small business set-aside under NAICS 238990-All Other Specialty Trade Contractors. The size standard is $15.0 (in millions of dollars). Per FAR 36.204 - Disclosure of Magnitude of Construction Projects, the estimated price of this award is between $25,000 and $100,000.
