- THIS AMENDMENT IS ISSUED TO ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS IN REFERENCE TO THE ORIGINAL CSS AND TO DELETE THE LINE ITEM quote mark Removable Rollover cage so tank can be removed from trailer if needed quote mark FROM SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. SEE ATTACHED FOR REVISED SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: Aviation Grade Fuel Bowser with Defuel/Refuel capability. Questions and Answers - 31 July 2014 With reference to: DOT 406 Compliant Double Wall Construction Tank with Stainless Steel Inner and Carbon Steel Outer. Question 1 - DOT 406 Code Does Not Allow for Double-Wall Construction. Do you want the Tank to be Double-Walled -OR- DOT 406 Code Tank? Both requests can't be met per DOT 406 Code and our Discussion. Answer 1 - Require double wall - Verified with DOT that double wall construction is acceptable for DOT406. With reference to: Fuel Bowser will be used on US Higways. Tank must have quote mark Rollover Damage Protection Device quote mark in accordance with CFR 49 Part 178.345-8(c)(1). Question 2 - Rollover Damage Protection per the above referenced CFR Section must be Engineered and Designed Answer 2 - Should be in accordance with the specification in CFR 49 Part 178.345-8(c)(1). With reference to: Aviation grade fuel will be hauled with this tank. (100 LL and JP-8) Question 3 - 100LL AVGAS requires a Code DOT 406 Tank (Single-Wall Construction) Answer 3 - Require double wall - Verified with DOT double wall construction is acceptable for DOT406. With reference to: 1.25 quote mark internal diameter hose Question 4 - 1.25 quote mark x 50' Hose - Aviation Certified for Use with 100LL and JP-8, Hose must meet; API 1529/2005, MIL H6615F, NFPA 407:2007 Standards Answer 4 - Yes, this bowser will be used to fill aircraft. Should be in accordance with the specification. With reference to: Standard nozzle with shutoff Question 5 - (1) Nozzle for 100LL and (1) for JP-8? Nozzle Spout Size for Each? By quote mark shutoff quote mark do you mean you want a quote mark deadman quote mark shutoff on the filler neck? Quick Connect Hose Coupling and Adapters for Nozzles and on Hose End? Answer 5 - Need 1 Inch nozzle for the bowser similar to the fuel pump at the gas station - when the nozzle feels the back pressure from the fuel in the tank it will then shut off the fuel flow. Quick Connect Hose Coupling and Adapters not required - we have multiple aircraft with unique fueling requirements and we have the necessary adapters to interface with these aircraft. With reference to: Defuel port with ball valve 1.25 quote mark internal diameter with cap Question 6 - By quote mark Defuel Port quote mark do you me a Defuel Wand with 1.25 quote mark Ball Valve? Please elaborate on whether this is for the end of the hose to suction fuel for aircraft or if this is just a port on the tank that you want to be able to connect an external (not attached to this unit or pump package) to quote mark dump quote mark fuel back into this 1,000 gallon tank? Answer 6 - No we don't require a Defuel wand we intend to defuel aircraft. With reference to: Removable Rollover cage so tank can be removed from trailer if needed Question 7: Is this quote mark Removable Rollover Cage quote mark supposed to be attached to the Trailer to provide Rollover Protection for the Entire Tank, Pump Package and all Contents that are Attached to the Deck of the Trailer? The Rollover Protection on the Tank is not allowed to be removable. If the quote mark Removable Rollover Cage quote mark is intended to provide Protection for the Entire Tank (Top/Sides/Ends) and the Entire Contents of the Trailer Deck, is this intended to act as a Roll Cage for the Trailer, not just the tank? Answer 7 - This line item of the salient characteristics will be deleted.
