Description
The National Institutes of Health, National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intend to award a contract on FluroChem R System on a sole source basis from ProteinSimple. The FluorChem R imaging system is a cutting edge, top of the line imaging system, offering the greatest range of imaging applications in any device of its kind currently on the market. FluorChem R can image colorimetric blots, DNA and protein gels, chemiluminescent blots, and most notably, 3-color and infrared fluorescence, permitting 4-color multiplex imaging. The imager provides high resolution images (8.3MP CCD camera) and unparalleled image analysis software with unique features such as ‘auto expose', enabling detection of band saturation and optimal exposure times. The time saving and convenient option for remote software access allows image capture to be controlled and monitored from any Wi-Fi enabled device using browser-based Digital Darkroom software. Many of the unique features of this device enhance speed and accuracy of results generated, including automated band detection and quantitation across all channels, and the ability to overlay multi-color fluorescent Western blot images, saving the time of stripping and re-probing with loading controls and running numerousgels for individual genes of interest. It is absolutely necessary to purchase an identical FluroChem R System to generate consistent data for our on-going experiments. The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one source available, no substitutions possible, and needed to continue on-going experiment, change in supplies disruptive to experiments. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTATIONS ARE NOT BEING REQUESTED, AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. All responsible sources who feel they can meet these requirements shall submit their capability to perform these services that will be considered by the Agency. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Offers must be submitted no later than 12:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time Thursday, August 14, 2014. Point of contact concerning this requirement is Lorena Waller who can be reached at 301-402-2284, or by e-mail at Wallerlor@niaid.nih.gov.
