Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number N6883614T00237 is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the latest edition of the Federal Acquisition Circular. This solicitation is issued on a total small business set a-side basis, NAICS Code 336611, size standard 1000. CLIN 0001 REPAIR AIR CRAFT CAMELS 2 EA STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) FOR THE CLEANING, INSPECTION AND REPAIR TO TWO AIRCRAFT CARRIER CAMELS 1. SCOPE Remove from the water, place on blocks, remove all marine growth, inspect, repair, partial preservation and place back in the water. 2. CVN CAMEL IDENTIFICATION 2.1 Two each, 51ft by 53ft with approximately 4 foot draft. 2.2 Weight of each camel is 105 tons. 3. REFERENCES: 3.1 Manufactured by Miller Marine, LLC. Dwg no. 11123-600-01 4. REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Camels are located at Mayport Naval Station moored in the basin. Port Operations tugs can tow out of basin up to 4 NM up St. Johns River to contractors facility as approved by government representative. 4.2 Contractor is responsible for towing beyond tug limitations as per government representative. Camels cannot be transported over highway. 4.3 Camels can be repaired both at the same time. 5. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE 5.1 All work to be completed by 30 December 2014 6. WORK TO BE ACCOMPLISHED ON CVN CAMELS 6.1 Camels listed in 2.1, remove from water, block, clean of all marine growth by high pressure water blasting. 6.2 Remove (8) 12 inch round void covers and (2) 27in x 19in void covers per camel. Clean all voids and perform inspection with government representative. Replace 4 round and one oval void cover per camel. Replace gaskets and fasteners with stainless steel. 6.3 Inspect camels with government representative, visual inspection of voids, paint system, deteriorated and damaged areas, zincs, grating and fendering. 6.4 Weld repair approximately 300 lineal feet per camel. 6.5 Remove fendering on ship side of camels. 6.6 Abrasive blast or hydro-blast to bare metal the ship side of camel and 400 square feet of camel sides and pier side. Apply two coats of Sherwin Williams Seaguard 5000 primer and one coat of Sherwin Williams Acrolon 218 haze gray to primer. 6.7 Paint all deck fitting white. 6.8 Government representative to inspect camels. 6.9 Refloat camels and notify government to tow.
