Description
COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION NOTICE FOR THE GOLD BASIN SAGEBRUSH MASTICATION Description of Work: The project consists of thinning 170 acres of sagebrush in Gold Basin allotment in a unit approximately 562 acres (30% of the unit treated). This will be accomplished by treating small, irregular-sized and shaped patches scattered within the larger unit. None of these smaller patches will be larger than 10 acres in size. The exact pattern of treatment within each unit will be left to the operator with guidance from BLM staff. Units will be treated with a masticating head machine such as a Fecon leaving approximately 4 inches of standing vegetation. Some areas will be designated as "leave areas" due to wildlife, cultural, etc. concerns; these will be clearly delineated with flagging and should not be treated. The contractor must have a consumer grade GPS capable of downloading the project area, leave areas, and recording the treatment patches and acreage. Buffer treatments at least 100 feet from roads. The treatment can run across (i.e., perpendicular to) a road, however, when treating parallel to a road, there should be a 100 ft buffer between the road and the treatment. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 115310, with a standard size of $17.5 million. Responses are due no later than 5 pm Mtn Time, August 20, 2014 to the BLM, Attn: Felicia Salazar. Responses can be sent by mail to 2850 Youngfield St, Lakewood, CO, 80215, fax 303-239-3699, or the preferred method, electronically via FedConnect at https://www.fedconnect.net/FedConnect/.
