Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY for market research purposes to identify interested vendors for the potential requirement detailed below. A formal solicitation and performance work statement are not available. Additionally, in accordance with FAR 19.5, Set-Asides for Small Business, the Government will review the information requested in this announcement to determine the type of set-aside (if any) for this requirement, should it come to fruition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334519 and the size standard is 500 Employees. The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement to purchase STS-2 and STS-2.5 host boxes manufactured by Streckeisen Seismic Instrumentation, Switzerland, and to determine if any vendors can provide a product on a brand name or equal basis to the STS-2 and STS-2.5 host boxes. Minimum Salient Characteristics: The STS-2 Host Box (or equal) must: 1. Accept 10-30 VDC input and provide isolated DC power at +/- 15 VDC 2. Have connectors to interface with the existing cables on the seismometer and recorder 3. Have a button to AUTOZERO the seismometer and respond to a remote command 4. Pass data signals without changing the signal characteristics in any manner The STS-2.5 Host Box (or equal) must: 1. Accept 10-30 VDC input and provide isolated DC power at +/- 15 VDC 2. Have connectors to interface with the existing cables on the seismometer and recorder 3. Pass data signals without changing the signal characteristics in any manner 4. Have a button to LOCK or UNLOCK the seismometer and respond to a remote command 5. Have a button to manually CENTER the seismometer and respond to a remote command 6. Have an indicator LEDs to indicate if the seismometer component is beyond its limits 7. Have an indicator LED for the operational STATUS of the seismometer. 8. Have a FAULT indicator LED to interpret the possible conditions of the seismometer 9. Be capable of sending calibration signals to the STS-2.5 seismometer 10. Provide remote readout of sensor internal monitoring points All business concerns who believe they can responsibly provide this type of product should submit the following information to the contracting officer. 1. Technical capability of this type of product as described above. 2. Past performance information describing other contracts for similar products/services your company has been awarded. Past performance information should be submitted for projects conducted within the last three years and include: project title, location, whether the work was as a prime or subcontractor, contract/subcontract dollar value, type of contract, percentage of self-performed work, and overall performance rating received. 3. Small business status of vendor (8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.) 4. Point of contact information for vendor, Cage Code, and D&B Number. 5. Any other information that will prove the vendor is capable of performing the required effort. In order to be responsive to this Notice, a firm must provide the appropriate documentation for consideration by August 12, 2014. Responses that do not comply with these procedures will not be considered. NOTE: All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary - the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Materials submitted to the Government for review will not be returned. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. This is not a request for quotations.
