Description

FY14 CFM56-7 Fan Blade Platform Kit FedBiz Synopsis for CFM56-7 Kit Procurement The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Contracts Department, Patuxent River, MD in support of NAVAIR, AIR-4.4 Propulsion and Power Engineering, intends to negotiate delivery orders under Basic Ordering Agreement SPRTA1-14-G-0002 on a sole source basis with CFM USA, 1 Neumann Way, Cincinnati, Ohio 45215, a joint-venture subsidiary owned in part by General Electric Aviation, 1 Neumann Way, Cincinnati, Ohio 45215, for material and parts (28 sets, each of 24 individual units) to replace existing Fan Blade Platforms, part number 340-001-817-0, for the CFM56-7 engine. The Government intends to procure under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. CFM USA is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the only contractor with the requisite knowledge and experience of the current CFM56-7 engine required for this effort. Delivery is required within 12 months of the date of order. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS; however, responsible interested parties may submit information in which they can identify interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Responses must be received by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on 13 August 2014. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is: 336412- Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing. The Government reserves the right to process the procurement on a sole source basis based upon the responses received. The Government will not pay for any information received.
