Description
This announcement is being posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Page located at at http://www.fbo.gov. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) will conduct an Industry Day conference. The conference will be hosted by NAVSEA 05, the Naval Systems Engineering Directorate, for the purpose of discussing their intention to solicit for indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) multiple-award contracts (MACs) for the procurement of engineering support services (ESS). The ESS required include naval architecture, engineering, ship design project management, ship design team and site support, technical library and data environment provision and management, in-service technical support and other related engineering disciplines. These services will also include: analysis of alternatives; advanced ship and vehicle concept development; future fleet force concept development; Concept of Operations (CONOPs) development; design tools; ship design standards; processes and criteria development; comparative naval architecture; conversion and new construction concepts; naval architecture; marine engineering; preliminary design; contract design; systems engineering; preparation of specifications and technical data packages; design related acquisition program or project support; detailed design engineering and review; production engineering support; and other lifecycle engineering for ships, weapons systems, and sensors. These requirements are subject to change prior to release of the final solicitation. This industry day announcement does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not to be construed as a commitement by the Government to issue a contract or order. The conference will be held 27 August 2014 at NAVSEA West, 2100 2 nd St. SW, Washington, DC. The event will begin at 0800 and end no later than 0930 EST. Due to capacity constraints, an additional session may be offered on 27 August 2014 at 1000 and end no later than 1130 EST. The attendee list for the 0800 EST session will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis and once capacity is full, we will begin to place attendees on the 1000 EST list. After you submit your intention to attend the event, you will receive a confirmation e-mail telling you which session you are permitted to attend. Companies are limited to TWO (2) representatives each as seating is limited. NAVSEA requests that firms interested in attending the SEA 05 ESS Industry Day submit company names and attendee lists by 1300 EST, 20 August 2014 via e-mail to Stacy Kirsch at Stacy.Kirsch@navy.mil and cc Vincent Culliver at Vincent.Culliver@navy.mil. Once your guest list has been submitted, no edits, changes or additions can be made. Please be considerate of our space limitations and do not reserve a spot at industry day unless you plan to attend. You must have a current state issued picture ID to enter NAVSEA West. NAVSEA security will have a list of attendees. As long as attendees have submitted names to NAVSEA prior to the required deadline, attendees will be allowed to enter NAVSEA West after showing proper identification. Following the briefing, firms are encouraged to submit questions to Stacy Kirsch at Stacy.Kirsch@navy.mil no later than COB 10 September 2014. The Government reserves the right to answer all, some, or none of the questions submitted. Any responses to questions will be posted for all to see on FBO. Parking will be available the MarcPark lot directly across from the building or at the James Creek Marina next to the building. Both lots charge $5 for parking.
