- Scope of Work Contractor shall provide and install an H.B. Smith 14 section cast iron boiler, Model #28-S/W-14, MAWP- 15 psi steam, Max input gas- 4,130,000 BTU/HR, Max #2 oil input- 31.5 GAL/HR. Contractor shall supply all labor, materials and any specialized equipment to install the boiler. There is a newer boiler in operation; this project is to install a new boiler, (same make and model number) next to the existing boiler. A boiler was there but has since been decommissioned and removed. This project requires a pre-bid site visit and all post award site visits are the contractors responsibility, post award visits will be scheduled with the Contracting officers representative. Contractor is responsible to provide and install all required components and accessories for a properly operating boiler to include but no limited to; burner and program assemblies, gas & oil fuel trains, water level controls, flue temperature monitors, all Local, State & VA required safety devices. Contractor is responsible for complete installation including all required plumbing, pipe fitting, certified welding, wiring, control wiring, and any other trades required for proper installation. Contractor shall provide and install a new steam stop header valve, and may reuse existing steam header if it fits the boiler properly, if not the contractor is responsible for fabricating a new one. Contractor is responsible for fabricating and installing a new section of breeching between the boiler and the existing flue outlet. Contractor is responsible for insulating all new cold, hot, steam piping, exit flue piping and includes re-insulating the existing header if reused. VA insulation specs will be provided upon request. If installation is performed during the heating season, any shutdowns that will affect the buildings heat will be scheduled with minimal impact to staff and patients in the building. These shutdowns should brief, just enough time to connect common piping, electrical and control circuits (less than 4 hours per occurrence). Contractor is responsible for providing a pre start-up and post start-up inspection, internal and external inspections, and safety device testing by an ASME board certified inspector, all documentation and inspection reports will be provided to the Contracting Officer and the Contracting Officers Representative. Contractor is responsible for providing all wiring and piping diagrams, manufacturer's installation and operating manuals, and provide cut sheets on all components and accessories installed in the project. No changes to this Scope of Work can be made without prior approval of the contracting officer.
