- A solicitation is to issued for a qualified and licensed contractor who is capable providing fire alarm system trouble shooting, repair and installation services at the Anaconda Job Corps Center, located in Anaconda, MT. The existing fire alarm system is a stand-alone, and does not have any outside monitoring services. The contractor must be capable of identifying and locating trouble areas in the existing fire alarm systems in multiple buildings, and must be capable of repairing and/or make recommendations for replacement as necessary. The contractor must be capable of identifying and repairing communication issues between a brand name specific fire alarm annunciator panels (FAAP) (Notifier DR-A4). Once issues are identified and repaired, the contractor must be capable of returning the system to normal operational status. The contractor must also be capable installing new brand name or equal fire/smoke detection equipment in areas where nothing is currently installed or in areas where the existing equipment is unrepairable. Once installed, the contractor must be capable of tying both new and old fire alarm equipment into new and existing fire control panels. Additionally, the contractor must be capable of interconnecting five (5) existing duct smoke detectors at the supply duct of the five (5) existing gas-fired furnaces located in various mechanical rooms with the existing building fire alarm system. This is required so the furnace fans will shut down in the event of a fire, which will eliminate or reduce the distribution off smoke through the Heating and Air Conditioning System throughout the building. The complete solicitation package, which includes the project plans and specifications, will be made available only through the FedBizOpps website at https://fbo.gov/. Anyone wishing to participate in this proposed procurement must obtain their copy from the internet. Copies will not be mailed from the Contracting Office. All amendments will be posted on FedBizOpps. Contractors will be solely responsible for obtaining amendments from this site to update files. This project will be solicited under FAR 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) as authorized by FAR 13.000, and as 100% Small Business set-aside with the intent to award a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. One (1) award will be made, in accordance with the acquisition procedures established in 13.106-2 (b) and FAR 15.102-2, to the offeror(s) whose evaluated offer/proposal represented the lowest priced technically acceptable (LPTA). Magnitude of Construction - Between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00 Tentative date of solicitation release: 11 Aug 2014 Estimated construction times: Sixty (60) days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed Tentative closing date for Quote: 5 September 2014 at no later than 4:00PM Mountain Time All inquires shall be via email only. Notice to Offerors: NOTE 1: All prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at http://www.sam/gov/ before award of contract; failure to register in the SAM database will cause your firm to be ineligible for any future award. NOTE 2: "Notice to Offerors: Funds are not presently available for this effort. No award will be made under this solicitation until funds are available. The Government reserves the right to cancel, either before or after the closing date. In the event the Government cancels this solicitation, the Government has no obligation to reimburse an offeror for any costs.
