Fort Huachuca is consolidating dispatch operations into a single location for emergency response. The MCC7500 console system reduces the time and effort required to perform dispatch tasks. In addition, these consoles offer users increased communications security via encryption. The proposed solution provides dispatchers with the same user-friendly dispatch interface in use today. This must be limited to Motorola brand name authorized dealers as all of these devices operate andcommunicate with Motorola proprietary operating systems and/or application software. The mobile and portable radios on the system are also programmed with proprietary customer support software for use with these devices, which allow them to communicate with site and zone controllers. Brand namespecific components, software and licenses would be needed in order to maintain all the items named above and replacement equipment for these devices must be the identical manufacturer and model to provide the same technical complexities. The impact of not using brand name parts for the installation LMR infrastructure first and foremost has the potential of degrading the capability of the installation's First Responders in times of emergency, should a primary system fail and the process for allocating the necessary repair funding take an extended period of time.
