Description

The Volunteer Services at the Kansas City VA Medical Center located Kansas City, Missouri is procuring Brand Name or Equal Staxi Medical Transport Chair for inpatient and outpatient services. Full and Open Competition will be used for this acquisition. The solicitation will be issued as 100% set- aside for small business concerns. This acquisition is for Staxi Medical Transport Chair. The Staxi transportation chair's single frame construction requires less maintenance due to fewer moving parts and a heavier steel frame. The chair is attendant propelled, and the wheel break remains locked until the break lever is pressed by an attendant. The arms are adjustable to allow for side transfers, reducing the risk of injury for the patients and attendants. The seat is higher and deeper than conventional wheelchairs, which reduces patients slipping forward and improves the ease of patients getting in and out of the chair. This acquisition is for a onetime buy and anticipated solicitation issuance date is on or about August 13, 2014.
