- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and shall not obligate the Government to award a contract. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources interested and capable of performing the work and obtain their size classification relative to the North American Classification System (NACIS) Code 334516 with a size standard of 500 employees. A.GENERAL INFORMATION Background: The Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, TX intends to purchase an Refrigerated Benchtop Centrifuge for use in its Animal Laboratory. Items required for use in Chronic Effect of Neurotrauma Consortium Study 1 Longitudinal Cohort Study for processing, collection and storage of Blood and Serum samples from research subjects. Centrifuge must have refrigeration capability and the required accessories for immediate usage without other items. Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide the following as listed below in the SOW. Please note that this is a salient requirement, and is not flexible. The following are the minimum salient characteristics that must be met: Item: Refrigerated Benchtop CentrifugeDescription A high performance refrigerated benchtop centrifuge for large volumes, yet not overly large in size. At least 2-liter but no larger than 2.25liter bench top centrifuge for high sample throughput as well as for high sample volume, with a maximum capacity of at least (120-145) blood collection tubes, (50 to 55) 15 mL conical tubes or (12-18) microtitre plates, refrigerated centrifuge is required for applications for spin down and prolonged temporary stores which allows for clinical chemistry, in biotechnology and in life science research. Temperature control -20 C to +40C with standby cooling Lockable lid for security and safety Digital controls for programming Relative Centrifugal Force (RCF) or Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) Auto recognition of rotors inserted Low noise; less than or equal to 65db Power source 120V AC @ 60Hz up to 20 Amps FDA registered (BGR 261) RCP 15,000 RCF 24,400 Added accessories required for immediate startupRotor Swing out with buckets for holding specimen tubes to hold 4 - 1.5 - 100ML tubes at maximum RCF 4166; inserts for 10 or 15 ml tubes; Bio Containment lid for safety REQUESTED INFORMATION: STATEMENT OF CAPABILITY: Submit a brief description (five [5] pages or less) that shows your company can provide the required services. One additional page may be included explaining experience in performing these services to the VA, other government agencies, or for private facilities. Potential sources should identify business name, point of contact, business size and any applicable business socio-economic category (i.e. small business, SDVOSB, VOSB, SB, etc), DUNS number, address, and any additional information felt to be pertinent. All vendors must be registered in SAM https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ prior to contract award.
