- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY - Solicitations are not available at this time. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. The Bureau of Prisons has a requirement for the provision of Electric Utility Services for the United States Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Codes are 221122 (Firm is small if, including its' affiliates, it is primarily engaged in the generation, transmission, and/or distribution of electric energy for sale and it's total electric output for the preceding fiscal year.) The Government contemplates awarding of an indefinite-delivery, requirements-type contract with a firm-fixed unit price resulting from the future solicitation. The contractor shall provide electric utility services for the period from October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2014, subject to funds availability (FAR Clause 52.232-18). The statutory authority for these services is found at 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1). When the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source. The application which permits use of the cited statutory authority is stated at FAR Part 6.302-1(b) (3), "When acquiring utility services (see 41.101), circumstances may dictate that only one supplier can furnish the service (see 41.202)." Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.
