- This synopsis is being modified to include the estimated sand quantities for the base bid as follows: Total Estimated Cubic Yards to be placed in base bid is 8,265,239 cy and is broken out as follows: Station 117+15 to Station 207+00 Estimated 1,016,535 cy, Station 301+00 to Station 383+00 Estimated 934,550 cy, Station 443+00 to Station 523+00 Estimated 591,138 cy, Station 570+00 to Station Estimated 1,614,494 cy, Station 680+00 to Station 792+00 680+00 Estimated 1,645,500 cy, Station 792+00 to Station 967+00 Estimated 2,463,022 cy, This acquisition is fixed price procurement. Completion of Initial Construction, Barnegat Inlet to Little Egg Inlet, Long Beach Island, Ocean County, New Jersey The project area encompasses approximately 13 miles of the Long Bach Island shoreline in Ocean County, New Jersey. Construction will take place within the Municipalities of Long Beach Township, Ship Bottom Borough, and Beach Haven Borough. The contract work consists of placing and shaping beachfill material into a protective berm and dune system. In addition, the project will incorporate construction of pedestrian, vehicular, and handicap dune cross-overs, planting of dune grasses, and the placement of sand fencing. The major items of work to be performed under this contract include, but are not limited to: beachfill dredging operations, beachfill placement, pedestrian dune crossover construction, vehicular dune crossover construction, handicap accessible dune crossover construction; fence construction, dune grass planting, existing fence and structures demolition and structures monitoring. The contract work may also consist of the following 21 separate options for additional quantities of beachfill construction in locations (which will be broken out into Stations) within the Base bid area. Station 117+15 to Station 207+00, Option 1 additional 100,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 2 additional 50,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 3 additional 25,000 cy of Beachfill; Station 301+00 to Station 383+00, Option 4 additional 100,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 5 additional 50,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 6 additional 25,000 cy of Beachfill; Station 443+00 to Station 523+00, Option 7 additional 100,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 8 additional 50,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 9 additional 25,000 cy of Beachfill; Station 570+00 to Station 680+00, Option 10 additional 150,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 11 additional 75,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 12 additional 50,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 13 additional 25,000 cy of Beachfill; Station 680+00 to Station 792+00, Option 14 additional 150,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 15 additional 75,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 16 additional 50,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 17 additional 25,000 cy of Beachfill; Station 792+00 to Station 967+00, Option 18 additional 225,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 19 additional 125,000 cy of Beachfill, Option 20 additional 50,000 cy of Beachfill and Option 21 additional 25,000 cy of Beachfill. The beachfill material for this contract must come from the authorized borrow area located approximately 2.5 - 3.5 miles offshore of Long Beach Island in the Atlantic Ocean. Beachfill material from any other source, including trucking from upland sources, will not be allowed under this contract. The completion time is 15 months. The magnitude of construction is between $100,000,000.00 and $250,000,000.00. The NAICS Code for this project is 237990 and the small business size standard is $27.5 million. Issue date is on or about 8 September 2014 with a bid opening date of on or about 8 October 2014. Solicitation documents, plans and specifications will only be available via the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) homepage located at https://www.fbo.gov/. Registration for plans and specifications should be made via FBO Internet homepage and hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. It is the contractor's responsibility to monitor FBO for any amendments. Also, contractors who receive a federal contract of $100,000.00 are required by legislation (FAR 22.1310(b)) to submit an annual VETS-100 Report on your employment of targeted veterans. All contractors must be registered in the DODs System for Award Management database at www.sam.gov (formerly called the Central Contractor's Registration Database) as required by DFARS 204.1103.
