- The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center (LAJVAMC), located in Clarksburg, WV, is issuing this request for information/sources sought notice in order to identify businesses that have the resources, capabilities, and expertise to provide Armored Car Services for the LAJVAMC for the period of October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015. The armored car company must provide all non-personal services, equipment, and transportation necessary for the pickup and delivery of financial instruments (cash, checks, etc.) between the LAJVAMC and its local bank. Pickups and deliveries must be performed on a recurring basis each Monday, Wednesday and Friday (excluding holidays), between the hours of 8:00 AM to 8:15 AM. The armored car company must be licensed by the State of West Virginia to either (1) operate a currency transportation business in WV or (2) operate a security guard business in WV. LAJVAMC is seeking responses to the following types of information from businesses whom consider themselves to have the resources, capabilities and expertise needed to provide the armored car services: 1. Company name, business type, socio-economic status (e.g., Veteran-Owned, Woman-Owned, Disadvantaged Small Business, 8(a), etc.), person of contact (including telephone number & email address). 2. Previous experience in providing armored car services for government or non-government entities. 3. Common approach(es) to armored car operations. 4. Common obstacles and risks associated with providing armored car services. 5. Common performance standards and assessment methods. 6. Other information relevant to armored car services that's not addressed in 1- 5 that would be beneficial to LAJVAMC's endeavor in developing its requirement. Responses to the information requested above may be submitted (1) via email to james.whisner@va.gov, or (2) via mail to Department of Veterans Affairs Louis A. Johnson VAMC Attn: Contracting, James Whisner 1 Med Center Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301. The results of this market research will assist in the development of (1) the requirement, and (2) the acquisition strategy (e.g., small business set-aside, full and open competition, etc.). Responses must be submitted by 11:00 AM (EST) August 28, 2014. This request for information/sources sought synopsis is for planning purposes ONLY. The Louis A.
