Description
This is a Request for Information (RFI) as identified at Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15.201(e). In accordance with guidance contained at FAR Part 15.201(e), Requests for Information (RFIs) may be used when the Government does not presently intend to award a contract, but wants to obtain price, delivery, other market information, or capabilities for planning purposes. Responses to these notices are not deemed offers, quotes, and/or proposals; and, as such cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Please note: there is no required format for RFIs. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the General Services Administration (GSA) Integrated Workplace Acquisition Center (IWACenter), or the Government, to issue a solicitation, nor does it restrict GSA or the Government to a particular acquisition approach. Any information submitted in response to this RFI is voluntary. Note: This RFI is not limited to vendors who have been awarded contracts under Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) 72, "Furnishings and Floor Coverings". The RFI as it is detailed herein has been evaluated to ensure that no component of this communication violates guidance contained at FAR part 3.104, "Procurement Integrity". GSA IWACenter requests input from industry participants. IWACenter seeks to identify commercial and manufacturing industry best practices and standards in an effort to better define the best method of capturing mandatory industry & technical standards and guidelines applicable to products detailed under MAS 72. Requests industry participant response concerning current manufacturing industry standards for items detailed in the table below: Broadloom carpet - Please define and describe in accordance with current industry standards. Carpet Tiles - Please define and describe in accordance with current industry standards. Special use broadloom carpet and carpet tiles - Please define and describe antimicrobial, computer grade, indoor/outdoor, and stain resistant and high performance/heavy duty, in accordance with current industry standards. Carpet cushion - Please define and describe according to current industry standards. Resilient (hard surface) tile - Please define and describe in accordance with current industry standards. Resilient (hard surface) Please define and describe according to current industry standards. Mats and matting (with and without logos) - Please define and describe in accordance with current industry standards. To include, but not limited to: resilient mats and matting, unbacked, open construction, polyethylene (such as Astroturf type), vinyl or vinyl coated fiber mats and matting, with solid attached cushion, anti-slip mats and matting, anti-fatigue mats and matting, and interlocking modular mats with closed grid construction. Recycled and/or biobased content (as defined in Executive Order 13101) flooring - Please define and describe according to current industry standards. Flooring Recycling Programs - Please define and describe according to current industry standards. LAMPS/SHADES - Please define and describe according to current industry standards. WINDOW TREATMENTS - Including but not limited to draperies & Drapery Accessories, Blinds, Shades, and Hardware. Please define and describe in accordance with current industry standards. COORDINATING BEDSPREADS AND COMFORTERS - Please define and describe in accordance with current industry standards. CUBICLE CURTAINS AND HARDWARE - Please define and describe accordance with current industry standards. Wall Art - To include but not limited to paintings, photographs and posters - Please define and describe in accordance with current industry standards. ARTIFICIAL TREES, PLANTS, DRIED FOLIAGE, AND PLANTERS FOR INDOOR USE. - Please define and describe accordance with current industry standards.
