Description
Furniture Partitions SOW This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Responses to this Sources Sought must be in writing. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified Small Businesses interested and capable of performing the work. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name b) address (c) point of contact (d) phone, fax, and email (e) DUNS number (f) Cage Code (g) Tax ID Number (h) Type of small business, e.g. Services Disabled Veteran Owned small Business, Veteran-owned small business, 8(a), HUB-Zone, Women Owned Small Business, Small disadvantaged business, or Small Business HUB-Zone business and (i) must provide a capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications and ability to perform as a contractor for the work described below. Description: Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) currently has eight (8) instructor offices located in Building 224 which is required to be upgraded and the walls to be ceiling height at about 8'10". The furniture partitions needs to be fulfilled by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Steelcase Inc in order for the upgraded furniture partitions to join with the current furniture partitions, the existing wall bins and wall shelves. Furthermore, the new furniture partition fabric colors must match with the existing furniture partition fabric colors. If a RFQ is issued, the RFQ and subsequent order are set aside for only those authorized FISC Norfolk BPA holders within All/OCONUS Regions. Quotes from other than these vendors will not be considered. •· The contractor shall fabricate, transport, and install furniture, furnishings, and equipment (FFE) into the second floor classroom area in the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (SNCOA), located in building #224. •· The contractor shall remove any furniture deemed as impeding the install and return furniture into appropriate location when completed. •· The contractor shall remove old materials from the building prior to installation and transport those items to the designated disposal site on Base. •· The building is #224 and located aboard Marine Corps Base, Kaneohe Bay. •· The contractor shall designate a dedicated on-site foreman that shall be present during the entire installation. That on-site foreman shall be responsible for the conduct of the installation crew, and compliance with this Statement of Work. •· Installation shall be performed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions and at the location confirmed during initial coordination meeting (See paragraph 2.2). Installation shall include necessary wiring or connection of the FFE and to the building's electrical system. •· The contractor shall arrange to immediately purchase any missing hardware necessary for the installation of FFE to ensure that the process is not delayed and adheres to prescribed timelines. •· The contractor must transport all packaging and other refuse, including cardboard, plastic, pallets and wood, off the Marine Corps Base for disposal. Nothing shall be placed in any government trash container. •· If anyone directly employed by the contractor, or by any subcontractor, damages the purchased FFE in any way, the piece or component must be replaced at the contractor's expense as if it were missing (see paragraph 1.7). If anyone directly employed by the contractor, or by any subcontractor, damages the building in which the FFE is installed, the surrounding parking areas, or any other part of SNCOA or MCB Hawaii during the installation, repairs must be done promptly at the contractors expense. •· The contractor shall remove all existing FFE (including furniture wall partitions, accessories, and hardware) from the rooms. The contractor shall be responsible for sorting all items by type, placing those items on pallets and banding them, and transporting the items on pallets to the appropriate holding area aboard MCB Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay for disposal. Existing framework identified to be used in conjunction with FFE will be repaired, and re-installed into the room(s). The Government is not obligated to nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 337214 (size standard to be considered small business is 500 employees). Notice to Potential Offerors: All Offerors who provide goods or services to the United States Federal Government must be registered in the System Award Management (SAM located on the web at www.sam.gov). It is desirable that any Offeror to have completed their business Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA).
