- Pursuant to FAR Subpart 6.302-1, the U.S. Army, MEDCOM, Western Regional Contracting Office (WRCO), Tacoma, WA, intends to issue a sole source award to Abbott Medical Optics (AMO) Sales and Service, Inc. in the total amount of $914,745.00 to purchase Custom and Standard Key Cards for the VISX Star S4 IR Excimer Laser System. This contract will be for a base plus two option years at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, CO. AMO Sales and Services Inc., has proprietary rights on all software and hardware for these custom and standard key cards. They are the only authorized manufacturers and distributors of these cards. Due to the proprietary nature of these Custom and Standard Cards, they must be used with the AMO Sales and Services Inc., Ophthalmology VISX Star S4 IR Excimer Laser System with Variable Spot Scanning (Government-Owned). This notice is not a request for proposal and no solicitation will be issued. Any firm that believes it can provide the stated supplies/equipment can provide supporting documents demonstrating their products capability; and specifications within three (3) calendar days from the date of publication of this notice. Responses received will be used for future acquisitions. Information can be sent to the Contract Specialist; Ms. Christina McMurtry, christina.m.mcmurtry.civ@mail.mil. No telephone or facsimile requests will be accepted. This procurement will be prepared in accordance with FAR Part 13, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
