Description
The purpose of this amendment is to announce a second site visit at Bldg 194, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas on 22 August 2014 at 1:00 P.M. The bid due date is changed from 10:00AM, 26 August 2014 to 10:00AM, 28 August 2014. Bid Location remains:635 Federal Building601 E. 12th StreetKansas City, MO 64106Room 5011 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) solicitation on or about July 3, 2014 on the FedBizOps website at www.fbo.gov. This requirement is a 100% design construction project entitled Historical Renovations for Bldg 194 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas 66027. The Contractor shall provide labor, materials and equipment to remove, replace, and perform all operations necessary for the complete and satisfactory renovation of Building 194. The work includes all exterior and interior construction as well as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, architectural, and communication requirements to supply a fully functional facility for Ft. Leavenworth, KS. Historical considerations have been designed into the building. Remediation of lead-based paint and hazardous materials will be required during the construction of this building. Bids received in response to the solicitation will be evaluated in accordance with procedures outlined in FAR Part 14. This IFB will result in the award of a single firm fixed price (FFP) construction contract. The estimated performance period for completion of construction is 365 calendar days from Notice to Proceed (NTP). The NAICS code for this specialty is 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction). The size standard is $33.5 million. In accordance with FAR 36.204 and DFARS 236.204, the estimated magnitude of this construction project is: Between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. A Bid bond will be required with your bid in the amount of 20% of the bidder proposed price or $3,000,000.00 whichever is less. Payment and Performance bonds will be required for the full amount (100%) of the awarded contract before the NTP can be issued. At this time, no pre-solicitation conference is planned for this solicitation. If the government does elect to hold a pre-solicitation conference, the pre-solicitation announcement will be modified accordingly.
