The microfluidics (MFFT) system was developed at NIEHS within the Fluorescence Microscopy and Imaging Center (FMIC) in collaboration with other DIR research groups to demonstrate a proof of principal for its application to different experimental studies. Droplet microfluidics" is a highly novel technique that enables the manipulation of discrete fluid packets in the form of microdroplets that can be used to perform biological and chemical assays. Dolomite is a supplier of mcirofludic systems ranging from standard and custom chips, to mcirofludic connectors, pumps and valves and microscopes. Dolomite can also supply surfactant designed specifically to work with these products. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 5 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The award is subject to approval of the justification for other than full and open competition. If no affirmative responses are received within 5 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Blacktrace Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $150,000.
