Description
Collegiate Z 420 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for twenty new SCV Z 420 sailing vessels for the USCG ACADEMY'S intercollegiate team, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The combined Synopsis/Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is 21-14-394PCW463 utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13. REQUIRED for each SCV Z 420 SPECIFICATIONS: • The boat shall be made with cored Soric construction throughout hull and deck. • The construction shall be a closed molded infused process. • The Collegiate Z 420 shall have a one-piece deck construction with integral closed forward bulkhead. The foredeck, bulkhead, centerboard cap, and thwart shall all be made of a single piece. • For purposes of safety, no bulkhead shall allow water to pass forward of it. • The foredeck shall be engineered to be flatter than the rounded C 420 class with a center section that is completely flat to enhance strength of the foredeck. • The mast partners shall be a one-piece solid construction fastened in place by Plexus. • The seat tanks shall be angular in nature to facilitate hiking. They shall have chamfer engineered to make the radius of the tank stronger to support crew. • The centerboard cap shall have chamfer engineered to make the cap more durable and to match the aesthetics of the seat tanks. • The keelson fore and aft of the centerboard trunk shall be an integral structural rib of the boat and shall not have any voids for air or water to pass. • There shall be a recessed molded bow bumper - inside the sheer line of the bow. • There shall be two tennis ball style transom drain plugs. • The gaskets shall be recessed into the hull with plastic retainers. • There shall be an extruded aluminum mast step. • The rudder shall be an FJ rudder set into a one-piece extruded aluminum rudder head. • The boom vang shall be 6:1 and double-led to angular seat tanks with cam cleats and an extreme angle fitting. • Harken hardware throughout • Marlow lines throughout *** BOAT WITHOUT SAILS *** STA/MASTER SHROUD ADJUSTERS for each boat VINYL BOW NUMBERS for each boat VINYL STERN NUMBERS for each boat ESTIMATED FREIGHT PER BOAT to: US Coast Guard Academy 15 Mohegan Ave New London, CT 06320 Technical questions may be directed to: Allen Kruger, allen.l.kruger@uscg.mil Phone: (860) 444-8575 RFQ packages must be submitted electronically to: David Palacios via email @ david.f.palacios@uscg.mil phone: (860) 444-8316 Ensure to reference the solicitation number when submitting your quote.
