- Description
- The Government intends to enter into a firm-fixed-price contract with Kidde Fire Trainers, LLC., 17 Philips Parkway, Montvale, NJ 07645-1810. The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC), Fort Campbell, KY, has a reoccurring requirement to provide preventative maintenance of the Medium Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Trainer Facility (MAFTF) system for the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES), Fort Campbell, KY. The requirement is for 12 months base year plus two 12 months option years (See (1) attachment - Sole Source J&A) The procurement will be conducted on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 13.106(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonable available (e.g. urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand name, or industrial mobilization). NAICS code for this procurement is 811310 and the small business size standard is $7,500,000. This sole source requirement will be procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures using Other Than Full and Open Competition, and awarded on an unrestricted basis. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS and solicitation will not be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 10 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Kidde Fire Trainers, LLC. Responses are due by 30 August 2014, 16:00 PM (CST).
