Description

PRESOLICITATION NOTICE This is an amendment to Presolicitation Notice VA244-14-R-1050. This amendment is updating dates for issuance of the solicitation as follows: The solicitation will be issued on or about August 26, 2014 with an anticipated proposal due date of September 11, 2014. The Department of Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to obtain Waste Management services. The Contractor will provide a full- service Sharps Management System (all labor, material, equipment, supervision and transportation) for removal and disposal of Sharps waste in accordance with all applicable State and Federal laws. The contractor will be required to perform services for the University Drive and Heinz locations. At this time, the solicitation will be set aside for Small Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The NAICS code 562111 applies with a size standard of $12.5 Million. The contract will be a requirement type and is expected to include a base year beginning on or about September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2015, with three (3) pre-priced one-year options for renewal. The Contractor is responsible for downloading all documents including amendments at the website listed above, without further notification from the VA Contracting Officer. Contractors must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov prior to award.
