Description

THIS IS A TASK ORDER AGAINST AN ALREADY AWARDED MULTIPLE AWARD IDIQ CONTRACT THAT WAS AWARDED IN FY 2013. Pursuant to the criteria outlined in FAR 16.505(b)(2)(i)(C), the order must be issued on a sole-source basis in the interest of economy and efficiency because it is a logical follow-on to an order already issued under the contract, provided that all awardees were given a fair opportunity to be considered for the original award. This requirement is a logical follow-on to Contract Number SB1341-11-CQ-0013/13-423. If these Design Title III Services are awarded to a separate contractor, there would be no continuity of services, increase in administrative time, project cost and additional lead time. This would be considered waste of government resources. Second, the Contractor has gained extensive knowledge from their study, analysis, and the preliminary design work conducted under contract SB1341-11-CQ-0013/13-423. Based on the findings set forth above, the Contracting Officer has determined the requirement meets the conditions established in 16.505(b)(2)(i)(C) and the issuance of a Task Order to Shaffer Baucom Design an Exception to Fair Opportunity is in the best interest of the Government.
