- The Social Security Administration (SSA) is conducting a market survey/sources sought to help determine the availability and technical capability of qualified small businesses, 8(a) qualified small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, service disabled veteran-owned small businesses and Historically Underutilized Business Zone small businesses capable of providing the requirement below. This market survey/sources sought announcement is not a request for proposals, and the Government is not committed to issue a solicitation or award a contract pursuant to this announcement or based on responses to this announcement. The information from this market research is only for planning purposes, and will assist the Government in its acquisition strategy. As such, the Government will not entertain questions concerning this synopsis, and will not pay any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this market survey or the Government's use of the information. Proprietary information must be clearly identified as proprietary information. SSA has a requirement for Automatic Door Preventative Maintenance and Repair Services for SSA's Main Complex and surrounding buildings in Baltimore, Maryland. The buildings include Robert M. Ball Building, Annex Building, Altmeyer Building, West High and Low Rise Buildings, East High and Low Rise Buildings, Supply Building, and the National Computer Center (NCC). The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supervision, parts and equipment necessary to provide preventative maintenance, repair, test, and clean all automatic doors, their equipment and accessories in accordance with standard automatic door industry practice. The contractor shall maintain all automatic doors in a satisfactory and safe operating condition. The automatic doors include single swing doors, double swing doors, double sliding doors, revolving doors, roll up doors, large loading dock overhead doors, and hydro-electric dock levelers. The manufactures the contractor will perform services on include but not limited to Stanley Magic Force, Stanley Magic Swing, Dor-O-Matic Senior Swing, Dor-O-Matic Mid Swing, Dor-O-Matic, Horton 7000, Horton 4000, Dorma, K&M / Record, Entrance Technology, D C Controls, Stanly Sliding Doors, Horton Sliding Doors, K&M / Record Sliding Doors, Dorma Sliding Doors, Overhead Door Roll-up Doors, Rytek Roll-up Doors, and Kelley Roll-up Doors. The total number of automatic doors serviced and maintained by this requirement total approximately 350 doors. Emergency response is required within one (1) hour from receipt of emergency service call, day or night. Response time for non-emergency service calls is within two (2) hours from receipt of service call. SSA anticipates awarding a five-year (base year and four option years), firm fixed price, commercial services contract. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238290 (Other Building Equipment Contractors) with a size standard of $15.0M. Interested firms capable of providing the requirement, per applicable subcontracting rule limitations (e.g., those in FAR 52.219-3 and 52-219-14) shall submit capability statements that demonstrate their expertise in the above-described areas in sufficient detail, including any other specific and relevant information, so the Government can determine the firm's experience and capability to provide the requirements. Failure to demonstrate capability of providing the requirement in response to this market survey may affect the Government's review of the industry's ability to perform or provide these requirements. In addition to capability statements, firms must include in their responses: (1) organization name, address, email address, website address and telephone number; (2) size and type of ownership and socioeconomic designation for the organization (i.e. small business, small disadvantage business, 8(a), etc.); and (3) business experience.
