Description
FAR Clauses Solicitation Info This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a wave generation system for the fluid dynamics test tank at the Coast Guard Academy in accordance FAR Subpart 12.6. The combined Synopsis/Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is HSCG39-14-Q-394PDD999 utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13. The requirement consists of a turn-key Wave Generation System for the newly acquired fluid dynamics test tank in the Science Department at the United States Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT. The test tank itself (already purchased) is 16 ft. long X 2 ft. wide X 1.5 ft. deep (see picture below). The tank will be divided longitudinally into two 16 ft. long X 1 ft. wide X 1.5 ft. deep test sections, which will be filled to a water depth of ~ 1 ft. The Wave Generation System will consist of two side-by-side wave actuators mounted in tandem in the tank, one for each longitudinal section. Each wave generator will consist of a wave actuator, driver motor and controller (computer and software) to produce multi-spectral waves in the tank. System construction, installation and testing will require: • System design or modification of an existing design • Purchase and/or fabrication of all system components (driver motors, actuators, mountings, cables and connectors, electrical panels, and controller (laptop computer). • Integration of components into a wave generator with two motors/actuators mounted side-by- side on the tank • Development/modification of the software to control the actuators • Installation and testing of the system at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Quotations must include all components, labor and travel expenses to fulfill the requirements. Equipment is to be delivered and installed at: U.S. Coast Guard Academy 15 Mohegan Avenue New London, CT 06320 Technical questions may be directed to: Prof. Pete Tebeau by Email at Peter.A.Tebeau@uscga.edu or by phone at 860-912-0495 Quotations must be submitted electronically to: David Palacios via Email @ david.f.palacios@uscg.mil phone 860-444-8245 Ensure to reference the solicitation number when submitting your quote.
