- Request for Quote PSHA Software The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) was created as an independent agency by Congress in 1974 to ensure the safe use of radioactive materials for beneficial civilian purposes while protecting people and the environment. The NRC's mission is to regulate commercial nuclear power plants and other uses of nuclear materials, such as in nuclear medicine, through licensing, inspection, and enforcement of its requirements. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-76. Solicitation number RES-14-0482 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ) using FAR Subpart 13.1 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541690 with a small business size standard of $7 million. This is an unrestricted solicitation, open to both small and other than small businesses. The NRC anticipates awarding a single Labor-Hour Purchase Order as a result of this RFQ. This acquisition incorporates one or more clauses by reference, with the same force and effect as if they were given in full text. The full text of a clause may be accessed electronically at https://www.acquisition.gov. Quotes shall be submitted in electronic format to Hugo Alcantara at hugo.alcantara@nrc.gov. No paper copies will be accepted. Quotes are due Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 5:00 pm Eastern Time. Any quotes received after this time and date will not be accepted.
