Description
Solicitation National Star Insignia Statement of Work Wage Determination The Contractor shall perform replacement of the national star insignia tile (approximately 30 feet diameter circle) around the flagpole at the AMC Museum building 1301. The museum personnel will remove the existing tile and majority of the existing mortar bed within 30 calendar days of contract award. The contractor work shall consist of, but not limited to, providing all labor, materials, tools, expertise, surveying, equipment, report writing, sampling, warranties, and transportation necessary to perform tile replacement as follows: a.Grind the existing concrete pad to remove any residual mortar and high spots to create a flat and level working surface. b.Clean the concrete pad with concrete cleaner to prepare the surface. c.Patch the concrete pad where needed. d.Use a modified exterior thinset to set the new tile insignia pattern. e.Install new porcelain tile to match the existing tile insignia pattern (see attached photograph), using the tile manufacturer's recommended thinset mortar for exterior installations. f.Grout the newly installed tile insignia with an epoxy grout. Use the same color grout as the tile: red, white and blue in its respective area. g.Install a polyurethane sealant around the outside perimeter to prevent water from getting between the newly laid tiles and the concrete slab.
