Description
In accordance with FAR Part 13 and 6.302-1(a)(2), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) intends to award a sole source contract under FAR 6.302-1 "only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." FEMA intends to award this contract to TCI International, Inc. an SPX company (TCI), Fremont, CA, 94538. The contract is to purchase replacement parts to repair Transportable Pyramid Antenna. The Mobile Emergency Response Support (MERS) currently utilizes TCI's transportable pyramid antennas and therefore requires compatible replacement parts to support compatible hardware. All component hardware is currently TCI, model number 545T-1-40 with 4kw average/8kw PEP. This purchase involves a compatible part number 354-BAL-01T required for repair of MERS antennas. No other firm can provide the highly specialized part, since TCI is the only manufacture of this type of antenna. Installing another product from another contractor will possibly create interoperability issues. The total value of this requirement is anticipated to be approximately ____ and the expected period of performance is to be from date of award through 120 (calendar) days. FEMA is aware of no other firm, other than TCI that can provide the type of baluns required for repair of the Transportable Pyramid Antenna described here in. However, any firm that believes it is capable of providing equivalent services that meet the specifications stated shall e-mail a Statement of Specifications and associated product literature to Christine Todd at christine.todd@dhs.gov.
