- The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Research and Development (ORD), National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL), Atmospheric Modeling Analysis Division (AMAD) intends to solicit, on a competitive basis for a Brand Named item, under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(ii) for quantity an each NEXSAN E48X Arrays with (4) SAS connections, Dual Expander, 48 Bay, 4U Rack Mount. Configured with (48) 3TB SATA Disk Drives. Include SAS cables for connect to E48 Duall Controller Array. The NERL/AMAD system is the foundation of AMAD's numerical laboratory. This system hosts AMAD's Nexsan E48 disk subsystems. Due to the computational requirements including compatibility issues, it is necessary to match node performance and (communication speed) throughout the disk subsystems. The selected upgrade must be compatible (form, fit and function) with the existing subsystems. The infinity system is a high performance computer cluster, which is basically a set of tightly connected computers that work together so that in many respects they are viewed as a single system. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 334112. The size standard for this code is 1000 employees. This procurement is 100% total set-aside for small business. Solicitation number SOL-CI-14-00028 will be posted via fedconnect on or about September 5, 2014 at www.fedconnect.net. Anticipated award date will be in September 30, 2014.
