- This announcement serves as a Sources Sought synopsis issued for market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. This Sources Sought is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation nor is this notice a request for quotations. DO NOT submit a quote or proposal in response to this synopsis. For the purpose of this acquisition, the North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 334516 and the size standard is 500 employees. The proposed contract will be firm fixed price. It is this agency's intention to do an unrestricted acquisition unless enough qualified small businesses are located with serious intentions to propose on our requirement allowing for a set-aside. Small businesses capable of fulfilling this requirement are encouraged to apply. The purpose of this notice is to identify companies, in particular small business socio-economic categories capable and qualified of providing one Injection Molder Twin Extruder (Micro Compounder) for the United States Air Force Academy. The minimum salient characteristics for this item are listed below: Injection Molder Twin Extruder Salient Characteristics • Must have integrated viscosity measurement • The extruder must have pneumatic feeding • The extruder must have an extruder with conical co/counter rotation • The extruder must be able reach 350° C • The extruder must be able to handle pressure up to 200 bar • The extruder must have a minimum barrel volume of 3.5 cm3 • The extruder must have a minimum barrel hardness of 58 HRC • The injection molding machine must be able to accept minimum (3.5g) amount of sample • The injection molding must have a maximum melt temperature of 400° C • The injection molding must have a maximum mould temperature of 250°C • The injection molding must have a maximum injection pressure of 1200 bar • Must include25 mm by 1.5 mm mold • Must include basic installation and training • Must be lab bench top size Interested businesses shall provide the following information: 1. Delivery is FOB Destination to USAF Academy, CO 80840.
