Description
The following minimum requirements are added in this modification: • Three compartment walk-in chamber with total dimensions 25'x11'x8'. • Temperature control between 67°F-72°F including temperature alarm. • Required capability: temperature settings between 67°F-72°F must be maintained independently between the 3 rooms. • Humidity of chambers must be maintained within the range of 40%-70% humidity. • Central room of the chamber will be a work room with temperature regulated by air conditioner. This air conditioner will be a dedicated cooling system for this chamber, not the building HVAC system. • Work room will be furnished by the contractor with a sink with domestic water piping and drain. • Two plant growth rooms will be accessed from doors on either side of the central work room. • Plant growth rooms will be used to rear colonies of plant-feeding insects on a range of plants. • Chilled water system will be used to regulate temperature of plant growth rooms - Cornell chilled water source is 39°F. • Electrical wiring for a total of (8) 120v receptacles in each of the three rooms, to power 16-20 fluorescent light fixtures (fixtures NOT included by contractor, will be supplied by end user). • Estimated heat load from lighting and growth room equipment is 4500 BTU/hr. • Work room lighting will be provided by overhead fluorescent lamps and desk lamps (fixtures NOT included by contractor, will be supplied by end user). • Vacuum pump (10 CFM capacity) with variable power supply serving each of the three rooms. • Preassembly and testing not required. A freight elevator exists to bring the components of the chamber down one level to the basement site. Chamber will be assembled on site. • Remote monitoring of controls NOT required. • Electrical subpanels for running 120 VAC power are on site - subpanel installation NOT required. • Electrical specifications of the site: 115vac/120vac single phase/60Hz. • Local environmental conditions: Over the course of a year, the temperature typically varies from 16°F to 81°F and is rarely below -0°F or above 90°F. Average annual temperature is 46°F. The relative humidity typically ranges from 47% to 95% over the course of the year, rarely dropping below 28% and reaching as high as 100%.
