- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, intends to initiate a commercial item procurement for lime application along the northern and southern banks of the Chesapeake and Delaware (C & D) Canal between Chesapeake City, MD and the Conrail Railroad Bridge near Summit Marina in Delaware. The sewage sludge amended lands shall receive a total of 1,197 tons of a top-dressing of high quality agricultural limestone. Mowing is also required on approximately 96 acres distributed throughout the sludge areas. Mowing shall be completed prior to any lime or potash applications. Mowing will be completed first, then lime applications for all required cells by 15 November 2014. Contractors are urged and expected to inspect the site where services are to be performed. A site visit will be conducted by Mr. Joe Pintal, who can be reached at (410) 885-5622, on Wednesday, 10 September 2014 at 10:30 a.m (ET). Award will be made as a whole to one offeror. Solicitation No. W912BU-14-T-0041 will be available on or about 5 September 2014 via the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) homepage located at https://www.fbo.gov/. Registration for plans and specifications should be made via FBO Internet homepage and hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. It is the contractor's responsibility to monitor FBO for any amendments. Offerors are responsible for printing copies of the RFQ and any amendments. Offers will be due on 17 September at 12:00 p.m. ET and can be e-mailed directly to linda.m.dobbs@usace.army.mil. Affirmative action to ensure equal employment opportunity is applicable to the resulting contract. All contractors are required to be registered in the DOD System for Award Management by award.
