- DESCRIPTION: The Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ) and the Office of the Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems (OPM-MAS) are seeking sources that can offer and/or develop Reduced Range Training Ammunition (RRTA) for Cartridges 5.56mm, 7.62mm and Caliber.50 ammunition. The requirements are listed below: Requirement: Maximum Range: 5.56mm: From M4: 2400 Meters for (T); 1800 Meters (O), 7.62mm: From M240: 2400 Meters (T=O), Caliber.50: From M2: 3600 Meters (T); 2400 Meters (O) Trajectory match to 1 mil comparable to service ammunition out to: 5.56mm: M4 with M855A1: 400 Meters (T); 600 Meters (O), 7.62mm: M240 with M80A1: 900 Meters (T=O), Caliber.50: M2 with M33: 900 Meters (T=O) Accuracy: Meet service ammunition requirements out to: 5.56mm: M4 with M855A1: 400 Meters (T); 600 Meters (O), 7.62mm: M240 with M80A1: 900 Meters (T=O), Caliber.50: M2 with M33: 900 Meters (T=O) Frangibility: Shall minimize damage to concrete construction materials and shall not ricochet back to the user to a distance, width and height of: 5.56mm: 5 meters maximum stand-off (T); 0-5 meters with NO damage to concrete materials (O), 7.62mm: 15 meters maximum stand-off (T); 0-15 meters with NO damage to concrete materials (O), Caliber.50: 25 meters maximum stand-off (T); 0-25 meters with NO damage to concrete materials (O) -The above must be capable of being fired from all existing Army weapons without modification. -Barrel erosion life equal to (threshold) or less than (objective) than ball ammunition. PLANNED ACQUISITION: No acquisition is anticipated at the time. SUBMISISON INFORMATION: Interested sources are asked to submit information on their energetic development/production capabilities, ammunition production process (including quantity capacity), test data on the 5.56, 7.62 and.50 Caliber cartridges, current production status and users of the ammunition, within 30 days of this notice to Austin Alpaugh, Contract Specialist, U.S. Army Contracting Command-New Jersey, ACC-NJ, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, 973-724-5166 or by email to: austin.m.alpaugh.civ@mail.mil.
