- Description
- Develop a model to manage inventory buffers of raw material and/or finished goods that will minimize or eliminate the effect of starvation in a supply chain. The model will use simulation to identify starvation in the supply chain. Based on analysis of starvation that occurs along the supply chain over a period of time the model will suggest ideal buffer inventory policy and strategy to be implemented in the supply chain to minimize or eliminate starvation. The model must consider the unique requirements of MRE manufacturing, taking into consideration the perishable nature of the product(s) and the possible wide variations in demand for MREs during peacetime and wartime
