- Description
- The proposed Project consists of the renovation of the interior and exterior of building B-351 including appropriate surface cleaning, preparation of the substrates, and the application of finish coatings formulated to bond to and protect the materials of the substrates. Coating manufacturer ™s recommendations regarding the use of abrasive blasting and other cleaning processes, as well as the use of primers and the number of layers of coating shall be followed to assure provision of the required Warranty upon completion of the work. Base environmental regulations and procedures relative to this scope of work shall also be followed throughout the execution of the work. The exterior surfaces to be cleaned and painted include pre-finished corrugated metal panels and associated trim, pre-finished smooth roof edge flashing at both the high and low roofs, metal panel soffits, exposed steel framing, hollow metal doors and frames, overhead doors and frames, wall louvers and frames, scuppers, and light fixture and surveillance camera supporting plates and unistrut shapes; also included are exposed plumbing and fire protection piping on or through the building walls. Exterior elements to be cleaned only (and not painted) include pre-finished smooth metal panels, pre-finished housing(s) of the fire protection alarm system, floodlight fixtures, anodized aluminum door and window frames, surveillance camera components, antennas, and associated cables/wires. Joint sealants dislodged by the cleaning processes shall be replaced with new material in kind so as to bond with the substrate and adjoining remaining sealant. In addition to the above, there are several areas of limited repair to the concrete substrate and cementitious finish at the large overhead door portals. The four metal canopy structures adjacent to the building are not included in the scope of work and shall be protected from all activities that can be detrimental to their existing structure and/or appearance.
