- The VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) and the VA Connecticut VAMC intend to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with DAKO North America for Cost Per Slide for Special Staining. This requirement will include the following characteristics: Product Description DAKO offers special stains ranging from Acid-Fast Bacteria stain Kit to Warthin-Starry Stain Kit. Their stainer is a fully automated system that performs some unique staining not available on other automated systems. DAKO North America, is the sole source for the Artimus special stain Kits to test Veteran patient specimens for the presence of specific substances or organisms. These stains aid the Pathologist in determining infectious organisms or other disease states that are present in a patient specimen. These stains kits are an integral part of the procedure, as mandated by regulatory agencies, and must be performed according to established validated protocols. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than 09/16/2014 @ 4pm. Responses should be sent to james.corbett2@va.gov/. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
